Senior Spotlight: Cailyn Shields, Loyola University Chicago

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.

Meet Cailyn Shields, Vice President of NeW at Loyola University Chicago.

What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
Our pizza dinner with members was a different but great way to get together with the girls and share a meal together!

What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I will be working to apply to Physician Assistant School and am planning to specialize in Dermatology!

What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
The advice I would give a conservative woman starting college is to always hold your values near your heart and to not lose them. It is easy to be silenced when the majority of students have different values than you. This does not mean yours have to change nor does it mean you have to stay silent.

How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has impacted prepared me for my next steps because I have made so many connections that I thought I would not have, especially since I am the only Biology major in my organization. I have also met a plethora of young and educated girls who will be near and dear to me for years to come.

Why is NeW important to you?
NeW is important to me because it gave me a strong community of girls that share the same values as I do which is rare to find in our generation. I am able to freely express the values I stand by and support the country that we all love and are proud to be a citizen of.

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Cailyn. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
