Senior Spotlight: Alexandra Torres, NeW at American University

Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members. We will miss working with them on campus but look forward to them joining our NeW Alumnae Network.

Today’s Spotlight is on Alexandra Torres, a NeW member at American University. After graduating, Alexandra hopes to stay in D.C., working on the Hill or in political communications or fundraising. She also plans to get a puppy once she has a job.

Q. What is one thing you have gained from NeW? 

A. I’ve gained long-lasting friendships and a stronger confidence in my values and myself.

Q. How did NeW shape your college experience?

A. NeW gave me a place to call home in college. Finding NeW freshmen year or NeW finding me was exactly what I needed as a freshman trying to find her place on campus.

Q. What is your favorite part of NeW? Your favorite memory?

A. I love going down to the Georgetown waterfront with ladies of NeW and chatting about politics and life, but most importantly I love being and challenged and encouraged by strong, passionate women.

Q. What is one piece of advice you would give to other NeW members?

A. Let the women of NeW challenge you and help you shape and grow your views. You will learn from each other while creating long lasting friendships and making fun, exciting memories.
