NeW at University of South Florida Hosts Speaker Event on Human Trafficking

NeW at the University of South Florida hosted a speaker event to spread awareness and information about the dangers of human trafficking on October 20, 2021.

The chapter invited Sophia Fisher — executive director of the Stop the Demand Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness to stop the demand for human trafficking — to speak to the 15 attendees about the topic. The women learned a lot from what Fisher had to say and thought the event helped them become more aware of a growing issue in today’s world.

“I had no idea human trafficking was such a prominent issue in our own backyard,” member Katey Coronado said after the event.
