NeW at University of South Florida Hears from Cuban Immigrant on Communism

NeW at the University of South Florida hosted a speaker event in which the chapter heard from Martha Lezama on living in communist Cuba on February 9, 2022.

The women invited Lezama, chapter vice president Alexia Bianchi’s grandmother, to speak about her experiences. Lezama shared stories about living in Cuba after it became communist and her journey to the United States. Her story was eye-opening for members in the room and was truly inspirational.

My grandmother shared her story on coming to the United States from a communist country and how she was able to be extremely successful in America. I am proud to be her granddaughter,” Bianchi said after the event.
