NeW at Oakland University Holds Professional Development Event with Heather Pfitzenmaier

NeW at Oakland University hosted a professional development event with speaker Heather Pfitzenmaier of the State Policy Network on March 21, 2022.

Pfitzenmaier prepared a powerpoint for the chapter and gave members advice on resumes, cover letters, networking, interviewing, professional attire, and job search tips. It was extremely helpful for the women to learn from a professional who has experience in the business world, and can give real-life advice based on what she has experienced. The members asked great questions and had good discussions, and even practiced handshakes and gave advice on what interview questions to prepare for and ask.

I learned so much about interviewing and resumes that I was not taught in high school or my college classes!  Heather gave some great tips about landing an interview and networking to find jobs that I want to pursue,” member Olivia C. said after the event.
