NeW at American University Gives Thanks During ‘Friendsgiving’ Dinner

NeW at American University hosted a “Friendsgiving” event on November 17, 2021 so that the chapter members could celebrate Thanksgiving together.

Twelve of the women from the chapter gathered to enjoy mini apple and pumpkin pies, make origami turkeys, and write “quote cards” for the nation’s veterans. Instead of writing typical “thank you” or “happy holiday” cards, the attendees decided to put a creative twist on this expression of gratitude and create cards with quotes about happiness and inspiration on them. The members had a wonderful time combining service with socializing!

“Not only did NeW at American University’s ‘Friendsgiving’ event give us the opportunity to give thanks for each other and the NeW community, but we also had the chance to express gratitude for the sacrifices of our nation’s veterans by writing ‘quote cards.’ This was a fun and fulfilling way for our chapter to contribute to NeW’s ConSERVative program!” an attendee said after the event.
