Congratulations to our graduating seniors and thank you for your work with NeW! We are pleased to spotlight some of our outstanding chapter leaders and members.
Meet Lila Fraser, president of NeW at Mercer University.
What were some of your favorite events that you participated in with NeW?
I enjoyed our chapter’s socialism event with Andres Guillarte. This event taught me so much about the real effects of socialism. Andres’ presentation included his personal experiences and how socialism has destroyed his home country, Venezuala. I also had fun at the NeW Galantine’s Day celebration. This event was a really fun way to connect with NeW members in a casual setting in which we did trivia together!
What are your plans after graduation?
Unsure at the moment. Choosing between grad school and a job.
What advice would you give to a conservative woman starting college?
Stay firm in your beliefs. The most important thing is to keep up on current events and know how to support your beliefs with facts. You will be challenged in higher education, but knowing what you stand for and why will help a lot.
How has NeW impacted you and prepared you for your next steps?
NeW has helped me to find great friends who encourage one another. It has helped me to make connections and learn from my peers.
Why is NeW important to you?
NeW has helped me find my voice and empower young women on my campus. NeW is a place where young conservative women who feel isolated at liberal schools find their home.
The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) provides premier opportunities for young conservative women like Lila. Learn how to bring a Chapter of NeW to your campus today!
