NeW at the University of Vermont hosted its first in-person event of the 2021 spring semester on April 30 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Five women from the chapter gathered for an ice cream social at a local ice cream shop in the area. During the event, members enjoyed creemees — or Vermont soft serves — and discussed current events, such as the COVID-19 vaccine. The get-together offered the women an opportunity to get to know each other better and afforded them a comfortable space to talk about conservative politics without feeling outcasted.
“I am so glad that we started a NeW chapter at UVM where conservative women can feel comfortable to express themselves and their ideas on campus,” Alex Amsden, the chapter’s vice president, said after the social.
