Member Spotlight: Laura-Valentine Lock, NeW at Belmont University

Meet Laura-Valentine Lock, Events Committee member of NeW at Belmont University.

How did you first hear about NeW?
At a Turning Point USA event!

Why is having a NeW chapter on campus so important to you?
I believe that it is essential for young, conservative women to find one another. Especially in this day and age, we may be the silent majority, but there are so many who want to silence us.

What has been your favorite memory or event with NeW?
Meeting like-minded women.

Why is NeW important?
NeW is important because of our society now. We are an organization that allows women to grow, meet like-minded people, and create a positive community at an early age. College is tough, especially in the beginning when you are constantly changing. It’s nice to have a community to help.

What advice would you give other conservative women on campus?
Don’t be afraid of your conservative beliefs. There are WAY more like us than you’d think. We need to stand up for OUR RIGHTS too now. It’s not just about being polite, it’s about the future of our children. Be bold. Be brave. Never back down.
