2020 Essay Contest Now Open

Would you like to earn a scholarship for college and have a chance to have your writing published?

NeW is excited to announce the 2020 NeW Essay Contest is now open and accepting applications. This year’s scholarship contest celebrates the centennial anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, giving women the right to vote in America. NeW wants to give women an opportunity to reflect on this historic moment.

Submissions are being accepted now through Sunday, August 16. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your voice heard by a wide audience and to win a scholarship!

Who: Female High School and College Students

Prompt: Women in America won the right to vote 100 years ago this month. Why is this historic moment worth celebrating? As women today, how can we ensure the women who fought for this right are never forgotten? Why is it important today that women are active in the political process and vote?

Deadline: Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 11:59pm EST

Prize: $500 for the first-place winners of the College and High School Categories. The first-place essays will have the opportunity to be published in the Washington Examiner, co-sponsor of the contest.
