For as long as I can remember I’ve always loved politics. I can remember the 2008 election and debating kids on the bus about different political issues that I had learned on the news. My dad is a big part of why I am a conservative; not because I was forced into a family legacy of conservatism, but because he has always pushed me to learn the facts and question both sides of the story. I’m a conservative because I believe in fiscal responsibility, government accountability, and the extreme importance of the liberty of the individual. I came to these conclusions through my own inquiry and research and I am proud of who I am today. I became aware of the Network of enlightened Women when I went to CPAC during my freshman year of college. When some friends of mine asked if I was interested in founding a chapter on our campus, I was on board immediately. NeW is so important because there aren’t any groups like it. NeW gives conservative, college-aged women a place on campus to express their views and help raise awareness for issues that are important to them. I am proud to be the chapter president for the 2017-2018 school year as a junior, I am proud to break the stereotype of millennial women, and I am proud to be a conservative.
