I am a proud conservative woman because:

I Believe… The proper function of government is to do for the people those things that have to be done but cannot be done, or cannot be done as well, by individuals, and that the most effective government is government closest to the people

I Believe… Good government is based upon the individual and that each person’s ability, dignity, freedom, and responsibility must be honored and recognized.

I Believe… The free enterprise and the encouragement of individual initiative and incentive have given this nation an economic system second to none.

I Believe… Sound money management should be our goal.

I Believe… the greatest strength of our nation lies in the individual’s right to the pursuit of life, liberty, property and happiness.

I Believe… in the freedom of religion, the freedom of speech, and equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all under the law.

I Believe… that free enterprise and individual initiative should be encouraged because it has brought this nation exceptional economic growth, prosperity and freedom.

I Believe… America can best promote peace, prosperity and freedom throughout the world by setting the best example of free enterprise productivity, and individual liberty and responsibility.

I Believe… in Peace through Strength because strength deters aggression.

I Believe… that military strength depends on a sound economy.

I Believe… government and its citizens must practice fiscal and monetary responsibility.

I Believe… the role of government should be limited to the powers enumerated in the Constitution, because government that governs least governs best.

I Believe… government is most responsive, effective and responsible when it is closest to the people and therefore most subject to their consent.

I Believe… that being a good neighbor through compassionate action at the personal, family, faith, and community level, remains the cornerstone of our nation’s social foundation.

I Believe… that to the extent the Republican Party practices these conservative principles it will be the choice of the American people.

I Believe… we should include all who share these founding principles and values of our republic in restoring the American Dream.

I Believe… That Americans value and should preserve their feeling of national strength and pride, and at the same time share with people everywhere a desire for peace and freedom and the extension of human rights throughout the world.

But most of all that Republicans believe individuals, not government, can make the best decisions; all people are entitled to equal rights; and decisions are best made close to home. These basic principles are as true today as they were when the Party was founded. For all of the extraordinary leaders the Party has produced throughout its rich history.

As young women in the conservative movement, we are lucky. We have so many incredible role models to choose from. The conservative movement is full of strong, sassy, unapologetic women who are proud of their beliefs. Compared to Hillary Clinton and her constant pandering on the left, we are so fortunate. Representatives of the female conservative movement include Carly Fiorina, Megyn Kelly, Dana Perino, Condoleezza Rice, Nancy Reagan, Sarah Palin, Stacey Dash, Margaret Thatcher and so many others. All of these women have accomplished incredible things and overcome so much doubt and backlash. By looking up to them, listening to their stories, and hearing some of their advice, we can better equip ourselves to be the best activists we can be. After attending Turning Point USA’s Young Women Leadership Summit, I have found new role models. Being conservative in college is hard enough, believing different things than most of your peers. Well these following people have successfully beat all odds of liberal campuses, and are living proof conservatives do survive, and quite successfully. I have had the chance to personally hear these women in person, and I assure you they’re all brilliant. Some women who stand out most to me are Kat Timpf, Katie Pavlich and Carly Fiorina.

Kat is perfectly awkward and smart, just like the average college student. She is very relatable as she too is a millennial and a libertarian. You can find Kat on Fox News speaking her mind on feminism, political correctness and economic issues. Kat is not only a political commentator but a comedian, which is a hilarious combination.

Katie is a role model for the conservative woman and has something to say to all of the modern feminists out there – they’re doing it wrong. She writes in her book Assault and Flattery how the left has ruined the word feminism. She is also a social media whiz and won blogger of the year in 2013.

Lastly, Carly is humble. She worked her way up and is a true representation of the American Dream. She started out as a secretary and was the first woman to run a top 20 company. She was a major candidate in the 2016 Presidential election, but unfortunately she was not the nominee. She is an inspiration to women, showing that if you have a dream you can work hard to achieve it.

For the reasons listed above and the superior role models in the movement, I am PROUD to call myself a Conservative woman.
