When I was in high school, I was probably considered to be the most liberal person at my school. As I began to learn more about government and politics, however, I began to see myself aligning much more with the conservative movement. I had never allowed myself to consider the possibility of being conservative when I was in high school because I bought into the stereotype of what a typical conservative was. Now, I pride myself on fighting for smaller government and freedom for all people, regardless of if you agree with my beliefs or not. What do I believe? I believe in personal responsibility. I believe in people working as hard as they possibly can every day to make a future for themselves. I believe in becoming self-reliant. I question those who pursue a career in political power and encourage everyone to stay politically active to keep elected officials accountable.

I hope to lead by example for other men and women, so that they can choose for themselves what they want to believe. Don’t let someone tell you that you can’t be conservative because of your gender, race, sexuality, socioeconomic status, or because someone believes differently.

This is what a conservative woman looks like.
