Women in the U.S. House and Senate

I wanted to know how many women won in the 2008 races and I thought our readers might want to know as well.  There will be more women than ever before when the U.S. Congress convenes in 2009.   There will be 17 women in the Senate and 74 in the House.  Congratulations to these women!

Interestingly, after Tuesday, New Hampshire is now the first state with a female majority in its state senate.
