Why NeW Women Are Proud Reason #9

September 29, 2009 | NeW Staff

Annemarie, Co-Founder of NeW at ASU:

My sister, Catherine, and I started NeW at ASU in 2006. As a senior, I wanted to impact my university, change it for the better.  Founding a conservative club for women was the perfect way to do that. It was excited to be part of an organization addressing women’s issues on the college campus. As the president, I led book discussions, hosted guest speakers Cathi Herrod and Linda Turley-Hansen, protested The Vagina Monologues, and held a rose sale on Valentines Day to benefit homeless mothers. I am honored to be part of such a great organization, one that truly stands for women’s issues!
