What Economic Reforms Do Millennials Really Want?

January 8, 2014 | Karin

Rolling Stone has a new piece out this month addressing Millennials and the economy, Five Economic Reforms Millennials Should be fighting For. What are five economic reforms that you think Millennials really want? I would guess that they are different than those offered by Jesse Myerson. Myerson for example argues for a universal income:

Put another way: A universal basic income, combined with a job guarantee and other social programs, could make participation in the labor force truly voluntary, thereby enabling people to get a life.

He advocates for the following reforms:

1. Guaranteed work for everybody

2. Social Security for all

3. Take back the land

4. Make everything owned by everybody

5. A public bank in every state

Wow! I don’t believe that this is what Millennials really want. Millennials want the opportunity to have jobs, not the government sending them a check. What do you think Millennials really want?
