The 9/11: Never Forget Project

September 8, 2009 | NeW Staff

Where were you on September 11, 2001? It is certainly a day none of us will ever forget.

Though it was a black day in history, it was a day that unified Americans. Yet ironically, the ramifications of the foreign and domestic policies that were a result of 9/11 divided us dramatically.  But perhaps this Patriot Day we can put aside our differences of opinion on health care, economic and social reform.

This week, NeW at UF is taking time to honor those who were tragically killed, all 2,977 of them. We put a flag in the ground to memorialize everyone who died and are holding a vigil on Friday night at 7. If you are in Gainesville, we would love for you to join us. This is a day all Americans should reflect on, and maybe, just maybe, it will even put our priorities back into perspective.

Here’s an article about The 9/11 Never Forget Project by the UF Campus Newspaper.
