Senior Spotlight: Alex Pfadt

January 15, 2017 | NeW

As we near the end of the school year, we would like to take a moment to celebrate some of the seniors we have graduating and to thank them for their hard work for NeW. Today’s Spotlight is on Alex Pfadt,  president of NeW at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.Alex Pfadt  How did you get involved with NeW?

I became involved with NeW first as a member, then as a chapter president, and a national intern. I am still thankful for the day when former UNC president Chelsea Miller approached me to join NeW.

What is one thing you gained from NeW?

NeW inspired me to embrace conservatism as a woman.   It was an empowering experience to realize just how many other women across the country share in my values and support them.

How Did NeW shape your college experience?

College is quintessentially the time when we first really find ourselves.  For me, NeW played a strong part in shaping my college experience by introducing me to a network of driven and ambitious women who represent the new face of conservatism.   It opened opportunities for me I would have been otherwise unaware of.

What is your favorite part of NeW? Your favorite memory?

I still remember the first time I met Sarah Davis and Karin Agness at CPAC.  These two women are incredible.  They have both challenged and inspired me, and I am so thankful that they were a part of my college experience.

What will you miss most about NeW?

I will miss being an active participant in a chapter, but I am sure that NeW will continue to flourish and I look forward to watching it grow.

What is one piece of advice you would pass on to NeW ladies following you?

If I can pass along anything it is to be involved.  Get to know women in other chapters. It always surprised me how accomplished, welcoming, and kind NeW women are.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I plan on attending the Masters in International Administration program at the University of Miami while working for US Southern Command.

Thanks for being a part of NeW, Alex. We’ll miss you!
