President Obama Losing Young People

December 4, 2013 | Karin

President Barack Obama won the youth vote in both of his presidential elections and young voters have been one of his most loyal constituencies. A new poll released by Harvard University’s Institute of Politics suggests that this loyalty is waning. The poll found that only 41% of 18-29 year-olds approved of his performance as president—the lowest approval rating IOP polling has reported since the beginning of his presidency—and that 47% would recall Obama. Also, a majority of 18-29 year-olds disapprove of the Affordable Care Act.
