Next Online Book Club: The End of Sex

October 1, 2013 | Catie

Each semester and summer, NeW likes to host reviews and discussions about the books our chapters read in our Online Book Club. In the past we’ve done Manning UpWho Stole FeminismA Return to Modestyand most recently Liberty is No War on Women

Join us as our Online Book Club returns next week! We will begin discussing  The End of Sex: How Hookup Culture is Leaving a Generation Unhappy, Sexually Unfulfilled, and Confused About Intimacy by Donna Freitas. Freitas extensively researched the hookup culture and its dominance in the lives of college students across campuses. She argues that hookups and meaningless sex lead young adults to associate sexuality with boredom, ambivalence and loneliness. Until students explore the alternatives to hookup sex, they will continue to miss out on the romance and intimacy many truly desire.

Check back in tomorrow when we announce our reading schedule for this fall semester!
