Meet the Gents!

March 29, 2010 | NeW Staff

Tomorrow marks the last day of the Gentlemen’s Showcase. Let’s take a look at some of the great men of our campuses.

Carly from UF was the first woman to nominate a gentleman, and he seems like a great guy. Here is what Carly has to say about her boyfriend: “He is a true gentleman in every sense of the word, both through actions and words.”
Despite the fact that CJ is an FSU Seminole and Sam is a UF Gator, Sam nominated CJ for the Showcase because he displays genuine regard for everyone. Sam’s grandmother even adores him. She said that the final test of a gentleman is his respect for those who can be of no possible service to him.

On a closing note she left us with these words of wisdom: “For all of you ladies out there, if your man doesn’t meet these criteria, MTV offers the Tool Academy!”

A few NeW women nominated their brothers for the Showcase, which says a lot about the character of these men because family often sees the good, the bad, and the ugly of each other. Elizabeth said her brother is not just kind every day, but “he surprises me and my two other sisters all the time.”
Anna Beavon’s brother Edmund made a series of hilarious campaign videos for her election as SGA president. She said, “he is selfless and encourages me in all that I do.”
Kala from FSU nominated her best friend’s boyfriend.
She said, “often today’s man forgets how to be funny yet respectable at the same time. Josh, however, does this masterfully.”
You can watch her video below!
These are just a few of the great gentlemen highlighted from the Showcase, and there are more to come! Look forward to the top four gents on the blog tomorrow.
By the way, it’s still not to late to nominate and vote, but the Showcase ends Tuesday, March 30, at midnight.
