Happy Fourth of July!

July 4, 2008 | NeW Staff

Happy Fourth of July!  As we commemorate this special day, I wanted to let you know about this fun book that is appropriate for days like today.  The book, How to Raise an American: 1776 Fun and Easy Tools, Tips, and Activities to Help Your Child Love this Country, was written by Myrna Blyth, former editor of Ladies Home Journal, and Chriss Winston, former presidential speech writer.  As the title suggests, the book includes ideas on how to raise a patriotic child.  Some suggestions include reading a book about the signing of the Declaration of Independence, going to a town parade and watching fireworks together.  Little things can accomplish a lot!

Blyth wrote an article last year on National Review that describes more tips from her book.  Enjoy!
