March 27, 2012 | Sarah

The NeW Gentlemen’s Showcase has had some amazing nominations so far. Here on the NeW blog we will be highlighting each gentleman to get to know them a little better and see why they should be the NeW Gentleman of the Year.

Today’s Gentleman is Niraj Antani, nominated by the NeW Chapter at Ohio State University.

How do you define a gentleman?

I define a gentleman as a man who treats everyone with respect, goes above and beyond for others, and is chivalrous.

Do gentlemen still exist? Why or not?

Yes, while rare, I believe gentlemen exist. I believe we exist because I’ve seen it in my father, my family, and my friends, and because if I am to be one, which I hope to be, they must exist.

What is the best piece of gentlemanly advice you have received?

“Courtesy is as much a mark of a gentleman as courage.” ~President Theodore Roosevelt.

Who are your role models for gentlemanly behavior in your daily life or in pop culture?

My role models when it comes to being a gentlemen are Senator Marco Rubio and Governor Bobby Jindal.

What is something you have done or said that exemplifies a gentleman?

I never let a woman walk home alone.
