The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) is proud to announce that Jack Loonam is the winner of the 2012 NeW Gentlemen’s Showcase! Garnering hundreds of votes in the nationwide contest, Jack beat out nominees from Stanford University, Ohio State University, and the University of Washington, among others.

Jack Loonam is a freshman at the University of Georgia. He is a member of the ROTC and a football player as well. Jack was nominated by the vice president of the NeW chapter at UGA, Taylor Ayres. Taylor nominated Jack for many reasons:

When I first met Jack I was struck his easy going charm and his kindness. I nominated him because I wanted others to see what a great guy looks like!

Upon learning he had won the NeW Gentlemen’s Showcase, Jack said:

I’m thrilled, honored and blessed to be named Gentleman of the Year! I would like to thank my parents, my position coach John Lilly and all my ROTC Cadre for setting the best example for how a man should conduct business in a gentlemanly way. I hope being honored with this award will help inspire other guys on campus to take a gentleman’s approach in their daily lives to show there are still respectful men out there, especially at UGA.

NeW is proud of Jack Loonam’s accomplishments, and is honored to name him the NeW Gentleman of the Year.

This has been an exciting year for the NeW Gentlemen’s Showcase, with eleven different nominees from all over the country.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2012 NeW Gentlemen’s Showcase, and a special thank you to Caroline Emberton from Cornell University who designed the Gentlemen’s Showcase logo. We look forward to next year!
