Meet today’s gentleman: Florida State University student David Saxon believes being a gentleman is a matter of choice. #NeWGents

David Saxon

“Being a male is a matter of birth, being a man is a matter of age, but being a gentleman is a matter of choice.” In today’s world, the decision to act like a gentleman has become even more difficult than for any other generation of men. It has come to the point that few men attempt and even fewer succeed. The ladies of NeW at Florida State University believe that they have been able to find of one these rare modern gentlemen. David Saxon is the marvel in today’s society. David spends his days at Florida State University working towards a degree in International Relations, but in his free time, David, who is only a junior, has dedicated his life to a cause that the NeW at FSU ladies feel make him the embodiment of what NeW is looking for in a Gentleman of the Year. David has become a crusader for women; he has committed himself to raising awareness for human-trafficking, helping victims and, ultimately, ending modern-day slavery. He is founder and president of “Freedom at FSU”, a group he started to achieve his goal of a world without human sex trafficking. With the support of Freedom at FSU behind him, David visits with other organizations and clubs in Tallahassee to help raise support and awareness. Recently, he organized the first annual “5k for Freedom”. The money he helped raise has been contributed to building more safe houses for those survivors of sex trafficking who have nowhere else to turn. David is able to find strength in both his Christian and Conservative values. He actively participates in the Florida State College Republicans and Every Nation Campus Ministries. David is able to treat women with dignity and respect. He wishes that every woman would be treated with the respect that her life deserves. Being a gentleman means more than holding open doors, or keeping his cool in stressful situations. David Saxon shows that being a gentleman means standing up for women he is never going to meet, standing up against those who do not understand the value of every life, standing up for those who are unable to stand up for themselves. When David learned of this opportunity to be “NeW Gentleman of the Year” he knew his fight against human sex trafficking and ending modern slavery would be able to reach audiences he wouldn’t be able to reach by himself. He would like to show his gratitude for NeW allowing him this opportunity. David Saxon makes the decision every day to be a gentleman. Florida State University is honored to have such a remarkable man on their campus and the Network of Enlightened Women deserves him as their “NeW Gentleman of the Year.”

Opinion: Redefining the right: this is what a conservative looks like (Campus Reform)

How dare I, a twenty-year-old woman, stray from the left’s doctrine that women must conform to a single way of thinking? “So, you hate all women?” I froze. It was freshman year, and I had just “outed” myself as a conservative for the first time at college. “[Since] I ‘came out’ as a conservative,...
