Countdown Continues…Day 3

It is only 3 days until NeW’s Anniversary on September 29th.  I thought I would write about what happened during the summer three years ago.

On June 12, 2006, TIME Magazine ran a story about NeW online.  It is still available and later press stories continue to refer to it.  Here is a link to the story, What Would Ann Coulter Do?   This was our first national story.  It generated a lot of attention.  This story prompted women on campuses throughout the nation to contact me to express interest in starting a chapter.  Thus, I decided to organize a national conference for NeW, so that more women would have an opportunity to learn about NeW and become involved.  We held the First Annual National Conference in July, 2006 in Washington, D.C.  This conference led to the creation of many more chapters and also set the stage for holding a conference each year.  It was quite a summer for NeW!
