Countdown Continues…Day 2

September 27, 2009 | NeW Staff

It is only 2 days until NeW’s Anniversary on September 29th.  I thought I would write about NeW and Women’s History Month.

Over the last five years, we have expanded to new colleges pretty steadily.  In only a couple of years, we had chapters extending west to Arizona and South to Florida.  During March of 2008, the University of Florida Chapter of NeW invited me to visit and give a speech during Women’s History Month.  You can see the pictures on the NeW Photo Page.  That was an important point for NeW.  I had worked with Holly on the phone before then.  That visit was the first time I had met her and seen in person all the great work she had done with NeW at UF.  As you know, now she is working at the national level.  Also, I thought my speech went well, so I offered to give it to other chapters of NeW.  Giving this speech has given me the opportunity to meet wonderful NeW women across the country and see the work they are doing.
