Chapter Spotlight: NeW at Santa Fe College

December 6, 2013 | Alyssa Condrey

This semester, we are excited to have a new NeW chapter at Santa Fe College. I asked some of their NeW leaders to share how NeW has impacted them and their campus. I hope you take a minute to read their answers below. You can also learn more about the NeW at Santa Fe chapter by visiting their Facebook page.

Keep up the great work ladies!

Q: What made you want to start a NeW chapter?

When I first started college, I was amazed at how many fellow students did not know where he or she stood politically and went with the popular choice with no rhyme or reason. I knew I was fairly conservative but felt I needed an outlet to express my views. I wanted to start a group on my campus that would help other young conservative women and I couldn’t imagine a better organization than NeW. (Sabrina Newman, NeW at Santa Fe President)

Q: Why is having a NeW chapter on campus so important to you?

Aside from being an integral part of a larger movement, our campus benefits from NeW in that students can find solace in a group of women who don’t agree with the hookup culture, don’t compromise their morals to fit into the risqué collegiate culture, and don’t undervalue the importance of their femininity. These friendships will keep students grounded in even the most tempting of environments. (Suzy Dean, NeW at Santa Fe Vice President )

Q: How do you benefit from being a part of NeW?

I benefit from NeW because my morals are strengthened by associating with ladies that share the same set of beliefs as I do. Without NeW, my moral standards could have been diminished by the liberalism of living in a college town that supports many liberal ways of thinking. (Isabelle Wasilewski, NeW at Santa Fe Student Senator)

Q:What is the best part of being involved with NeW?

In college we are faced with many tough decisions that will shape our future. I feel it is essential for every young woman on a college campus to have a foundation that provides moral support and help with the many decisions. I love that NeW is able to provide that foundation for so many young women at colleges across the nation and that I could help build that foundation on my campus. (Sabrina Newman)

If you are a young woman on campus and interested in creating your own community for conservative women like Sabrina, Suzy, and Isabelle, email me today and I would be happy share with you more about starting a NeW chapter on your own campus! Opinion: Redefining the right: this is what a conservative looks like (Campus Reform)

How dare I, a twenty-year-old woman, stray from the left’s doctrine that women must conform to a single way of thinking? “So, you hate all women?” I froze. It was freshman year, and I had just “outed” myself as a conservative for the first time at college. “[Since] I ‘came out’ as a conservative,...
