Chapter 7 of the Online Book Club This Week!

This Wednesday our Online Book Club will discuss chapter 7, “Opting Out: Rethinking Abstinence in the Age of Hookup Culture.” Proponents of abstinence usually consistent of members from the religious right. In this chapter, Freitas explores alternative ways of encouraging abstinence among students from different political and religious backgrounds. She hopes that this will inspire young adults to think critically about their sex lives and pursue other avenues of sexual fulfillment.
