Boys will be Boys

There’s an article in The New York Times today about sexism on campus. Entitled “After Class, Skimpy Equality,” the article covers acceptance of young men and women in college of lewd, sexist behavior. The author is alarmed by the behavior of college men that is tolerated by their female peers, and gives example after example of this tolerance. Says one student:

“Boys will be boys…it’s just the way drunk frat guys act.”

That’s not true. NeW women do not think the behavior in this article is acceptable, and have spoken out against it in the past. If you have read this article, what do you think about the accepting attitude of women and men with this kind of behavior? Would you stand for it on your campus, or in your circle of friends?
