May 2, 2012 | Sarah

The Network of enlightened Women (NeW) is excited to announce that the Seventh Annual National Conference will be held on Thursday, June 28 and Friday, June 29 in Washington, DC. On Thursday evening, we will kick off the conference with a networking event for young professionals. The event will be held from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Heritage Foundation.

The daylong event will draw in dozens of NeW women from all over the country. We want you to attend as well! By submitting an essay for the NeW Travel Scholarship, you will have the chance to join us!

NeW is offering travel scholarships for those interested in attending the National Conference. If you will be a college student during the 2012-2013 school year and would like to attend the NeW National Conference, please apply by writing a response to one of the following question:

What difference has NeW made on your campus? Why is it important to have NeW on your campus? What do you plan to do next semester to further your chapter’s impact?

What is the biggest challenge you face as a NeW woman?

Recently, the media has reported on the “war on women.” Based on your experience, is there a war on women? How does a book or author you read in NeW relate to this phenomenon?

Winners’ responses will be highlighted on the blog and at the Conference.  By submitting an essay, you agree that we can post the essay.  Scholarships will be awarded to individuals for travel expenses and may be used towards helping your entire chapter attend.

Please submit answers (no more than 800 words) via email to Sarah Davis  by May 15, 2012.

Good luck!
