A Parent’s Response to a Problematic Culture

October 7, 2008 | NeW Staff

Rebecca Hagelin, author of Home Invasion and Vice President of
Communications and Marketing at the Heritage Foundation, recently made
a plea to all parents seeking their opinions, experiences, and advice on
parenting. Hagelin wisely notes the changing teenage fashion trends
that push the envelope, the pervasive influence of technology on
children, and a culture that is often saying “Yes!” when parents should
be saying no. She aims to revise Home Invasion using her readers’
advice. It is not difficult to see how a corruptive culture has
negatively affected our nation’s youth and continues to eat away at our
society. It’s an encouraging sign to see parents wanting to help
improve society, and we can only hope that such actions like these will
lead to a culture that will embrace virtues and principles.
