Each month, NeW is proud to highlight a NeW alumna. Today, we would like to feature Taylor McLamb, a graduate of North Carolina State University. Read about what she has been up to since her time at NeW:
Where and when were you involved with NeW on Campus?
I was involved with NeW at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC during my freshman through junior year (3 years).
What drew you to NeW originally?
I was drawn to NeW because it was a conservative club exclusive to women.
What was your favorite thing about being involved with NeW?
I really enjoyed the networking component of NeW – we met with other chapters at nearby universities, hosted socials and speakers, and I got to meet great like-minded university women.
What have you done since graduation?
I am now a field director for the NC Republican Party.
How has NeW shaped your post-college experience?
Not only was NeW great for networking, it has helped me in my professional life when it comes to outreach and events. With the help of the NeW leadership, I was able to host a major political pundit, S.E. Cupp on campus. Planning that large event, as well as planning meetings and organizing membership, was excellent experience for my career today.
What piece of advice would you give to current NeW Women?
Stick to your principles! Network as much as possible with conservative students on campus.
What was your favorite book on the NeW Book List?
My favorite book from the NeW Book List is the Politically Incorrect Guide to Women, Sex, and Feminism by Carrie L Lukas.
What is one of your favorite memories from being a member of NeW?
One of my favorite memories from my time with NeW is hosting S.E. Cupp, and hearing from other political pundits such as Mary Katharine Ham and Phyllis Schlafly.
