The Network of enlightened Women (NeW)

NeW is the nation's premier club for conservative university women.  Started as a book club at the University of Virginia in 2004, NeW aims to cultivate a community of conservative women and expand intellectual diversity on university campuses through its focus on education.  NeW members meet regularly to discuss issues relating to politics, gender and conservative principles.  NeW has expanded to over 20 colleges nationwide.  Want to be added to our email list or start a chapter? 2010 NeW National Conference Attendees

NeW's 5th Annual National Conference in Washington, D.C., was a success!  On June 24-25, NeW women, NeW supporters, and potential NeW leaders from across the country gathered in Washington, D.C., for a two-day conference at The Heritage Foundation.  NeW women and supporters networked with women from across the movement on Thursday evening at a reception.  As well, NeW's Founder Karin Agness shared NeW's mission and growth on college campuses with attendees.  During the Friday Conference, author and scholar Christina Hoff Sommers invigorated attendees as she spoke on the role of conservative women in rescuing the women's movement.  Attendees also heard from Karin Agness, as she shared the history and expansion of NeW from one book club at the University of Virginia to over 20 chapters nationwide. NeW leaders shared their chapters' victories and experiences from the past year and how they are working to make a difference on their campuses.  NeW leaders in attendance were encouraged and gained insights and strategies to take back to their campuses.  For some, this was their first exposure to NeW, and we are excited to begin working with many of these women to start NeW chapters.  For our supporters, it was an opportunity to see the difference their involvement is making in the lives of young women across the country.  For those of you who were able to attend, thank you for your support!
