Gentleman of the Year Honored at UF

by NeW Staff on April 16, 2010 · 0 comments

NeW’s Gentleman of the Year David DiVirgilio summarized what he thinks makes a gentleman at a picnic held at UF last night. He said that he hadn’t previously thought of himself as a great gentleman because he doesn’t always remember to hold the doors open, rather he simply strives to treat everyone with respect and kindness. It’s this character that motivated more than 400 UF students, family, and friends to vote for David.

UF’s NeW chapter said thank you to David at a spring picnic on the lawn in front of the library. It was a casual night with desserts, hanging out, and the presentation of David’s $100 gift certificate to Mark’s Steakhouse (and a giant check-see the picture below). In gentlemanly fashion, David is treating his brother and sister to the steak dinner this weekend.

If you missed the coverage of the Showcase, you can read an article here.
