I was fortunate enough to travel with eight University of Florida NeW women to the Conservative Political Action Conference last week. We all learned an enormous amount and had a wonderful time networking with other conservative-minded individuals.
After leaving the conference, I was left with a feeling of positivity and hope. When you are at CPAC, it’s like hanging out with a bunch of great friends for three days. You often instantly have a connection with everyone you meet since you agree on one thing-that you are conservative.
The highlight of our CPAC experience was attending the panel of conservative women hosted by the Luce Policy Institue. Phyllis Schlafly, Michelle Bachmann, S.E. Cupp, and Cleta Mitchell made up the absolutely amazing panel. All of the women talked about the importance of family and speaking up as a conservative woman. (Phyllis Schalfly is someone we talk about in our meetings!)
What was also really wonderful was the networking experience we had at the NeW Dessert Party. Meeting conservative women trying to make a difference on campuses around the country is really wonderful. The dessert party was a great atmosphere for discussing our chapter ideas and events-we got some really great ideas to implement at UF!
The UF NeW women are already planning our next trip to D.C.-we can’t wait to be at CPAC 2012 and meet more NeW women!
