September 29 was NeW’s Eighth Anniversary, and many of our chapters celebrated across the country. We wanted to share some of their stories with you here on the NeW blog. Today, we showcase the celebration at Cornell University.
NeW at Cornell started last fall, and have had an exciting and action-packed year. This was their first time celebrating NeW’s Anniversary, and they wanted to do something fun, social and with plenty of chances for bonding. From the coordinator of this year’s Anniversary celebration Ali Smith:
In celebration of NeW’s anniversary this past Saturday, we went to the Ithaca Farmers Market for lunch. We explored the market, picked out yummy food for lunch (from apple fritters and maple walnut fudge to fresh stone oven pizza and breakfast burritos, the Ithaca Farmer’s Market really has everything!), and enjoyed it right along the edge of Cayuga Lake! Our time together was full of light-hearted conversation and laughter, which provided us with a much needed get-away from campus during Cornell’s 1st round of prelims. We had a wonderful time and arrived back to campus feeling refreshed and ready to hit the library!
Sounds like a great celebration! Thanks for being a part of NeW.
